21.09.2020 COVID Testing information for patients

At a glance

Supply for COVID-19 tests is not currently meeting demand.  There are things you can do to help:

·         Only book a test if you or someone you care for has specific symptoms of COVID-19

·         To book a test(s) please go to https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus or phone 119

·         DO NOT phone NHS 111, your GP surgery or visit your Emergency Department, as they have no access to tests

·         Testing centres are not walk-in – you will need an appointment and cannot be tested without one

·         If you can’t get a test immediately or near to you keep trying the website address as more tests are added throughout the course of each day and you will often find that you can book a test quickly by trying again

The aim is to get your test results within 48 hours. However, if you have been awaiting your results for longer than five days and want to ask when you should receive them please contact the Coronavirus testing helpline: 0300 303 2713

Flu vaccines 2020: We are now taking bookings for flu injections. If you are eligible please telephone the surgery to book into one of our flu clinics. If you do not wish to have the vaccine please could you still contact to let us know so we can take you off our list.

Please be aware that our flu clinics will run slightly differently this year to ensure social distancing is maintained. You may be asked to wait outside or in your car. You will be required to wear a mask unless you are exempt. Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing to ensure the vaccine can be given to you ask quick as possible. A one way system will be in operation at the practice. You will be asked to stand to have the vaccine unless you are unable.

Thank you all for your continued cooperation.

We are unable to produce any letters for patients regarding exemptions to wearing a face covering. Please follow the clearly defined government guidelines. Face coverings on Public Transport, Shops and Supermarkets

From 17th July due to an increase in demand if you need to speak to a doctor please call before 11.00am. After this time we will only be able to deal with calls of an urgent clinical need. We are still operating a telephone triage service so please only attend the practice if you have an agreed booked appointment.

Friends & Family Test

We would like to thank those of you that have commented about your recent experience of our Practice when considering

“How likely are you to recommend our GP Practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?”

You can currently provide your feedback to us in the following ways:

  • Handwritten, using the cards available in both sites or by letter
  • Telephone call

Your feedback will help us learn more about what you think of your experience – what you like and what you think we could improve. Ultimately, you’re helping us to make changes that will ensure we can offer the best possible care.
