Flu Vaccine Update 20/11/2020

You will no doubt have heard in the media this morning, that those age 50-64 will be able to receive a flu vaccine from 1/12/20. General practices are learning this information at the same time as you. Practices are doing all they can to prepare and source vaccines and we will be in contact with patients as soon as we are able. In the meantime please do not contact your surgery about flu vaccines if you are in this group until you are asked to do so.

COVID- 19 Update November

We understand that with the announcement of a new lockdown there are going to be a number of patients concerned about the situation, especially those in very vulnerable risk groups and also those with children attending educational settings. The current government advice about high risk groups is available here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november?fbclid=IwAR3yYduI5wOSppU1Tlw-YOkuKpJKnaHtPF3_fqTbIpG9Hxi0ETAvwAG1Vss#protecting-people-more-at-risk-from-coronavirus. Further publication is due on Monday, and the Government will be writing to affected patients. GPs at the surgery have no additional information  to the above  and are unable to help with requests for sick notes or other letters in such circumstances.

For people concerned about children attending educational settings; we understand and sympathise with the concerns around children attending school at this time, especially if a household has extremely vulnerable members. As a practice we are very sorry, but decisions about children attending school are not ours to make. We would suggest a discussion between the people involved and the school to decide on the best course of action.

The surgery is still open for telephone appointments and face to face where necessary. We ask that you are patient with our staff at this busy time and thank you for your continued support.

Flu Update October

Please find attached information regarding this years flu vaccines. At the moment we are not vaccinating 50-64 year olds unless you are in an at risk group. We will contact you when we have had further information regarding this vaccine as soon as we here from NHSE.
